Setting Up MacOS 8 or 9 to connect to the Internet with MoonStar using the Internet Setup Assistant

Step 1:

Double click on the hard drive (unless you have renamed it this will be called Macintosh HD and will be located in the top left hand corner of the desktop), double click on Applications (Mac OS 8 or 9), double click on Utilities, and then double click on Assistants - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 2:

You will be asked Would you like to set up your computer to use the Internet?, click on the button marked Yes - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 3:

You will be asked Do you already have an Internet account, click on the button marked Yes - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 4:

Read the information in this window and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 5:

You will be asked What would you like to name this configuration? enter MoonStar, for How will you be connecting to the Internet? select Modem and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 6:

For Which modem are you using? and Which Port is the modem connected to?leave these as set, for Does your phone line use tone or pulse? select Tone, leave Ignore dial tone? unchecked, and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 7:

For What is the access phone number for this configuration enter 392 7670, for What name do you use with this service (also known as your log-in name or user ID)? enter your MoonStar username, for What is your password enter your MoonStar password, and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 8:

For Does your ISP require that you use a PPP Connect Script when you log in select No and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 9:

For Is there an IP address for this configuration? select No and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 10:

For What is the DNS address (or addresses) for this configuration? leave this blank, for What is the Domain Name (or host name) for this configuration? leave this blank, and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 11:

For What is the e-mail address for this configuration enter you MoonStar email address, for What is the e-mail password for this configuration? enter your MoonStar password, and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 12:

For What is the e-mail account for this configuration? enter username@luna.moonstar.com where username is your MoonStar username, for What is the e-mail host for this configuration? enter mx.moonstar.com and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 13:

For What is the Newsgroup host for this configuration? enter news.moonstar.com and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 14:

For Do you use proxy servers for Internet connections? select No and then click the right arrow - Select this link to see a screen shot

Step 15:

You have now completed the Internet Setup Assistant. If you wish to go ahead and connect check Connect when finished and then click Go Ahead - Select this link to see a screen shot
