This style of stick makes an excellent gift for presentation at the member's accomplishment
ceremony after a very special hiking event.
The stick normally contains the members Club Patch, Club Motto, Name, dates of hike,
special events during the hike, and the names of all supporting personnel when used on long
hikes at re-supply points.

Brian has returned home after his successful completion of the Calendar
Triple Crown. His last trail log appears on the link below. All of his trail logs are
available there for you to read, by clicking on the buttons for each month.
We hope you enjoy reading them, and seeing the photos that are
displayed.
As Brian neared the end of his trek, our guests who visited this page to
follow his progress exceeded 1700 per day! I am amazed and delighted
that so many of you checked in with us so often. Your attention has been
my reward.
Brian has received hundreds of emails congratulating him on his
successful effort. He or I have tried to answer each and every one of
them. If our replies have sometimes been brief, I'm sure you understand
that they are, nevertheless, from the heart.
Brian has also received more media attention locally, nationally and, yes,
internationally than we dreamed possible. It's been a bit overwhelming,
certainly, but he is enjoying it while it lasts!
Finally, Brian and I both hope and expect that the public's recent interest
in his hike will raise their awareness of these National Scenic Trails. The
Appalachian Trail, the Continental Divide Trail, and the Pacific Crest Trail
all deserve our support, and will survive only as long as the people in this
country continue to value them as the National Treasures we know them
to be.
On January 1, 2001, Brian began his attempt to hike the
Appalachian Trail, the Continental Divide Trail and the
Pacific Crest Trail, 7,371 miles, all in one calendar year.
He finished the Calendar Triple Crown on October 27th.
