The VIRGINIA HIKING
STICK COMPANY

James A. Huskey retired 1 Aug. 2000 from Longwood College as Chief of Police and had served Longwood College since 1971. At his retirement ceremony, he was presented with the "Retirement Stick" pictured which highlighted his career and other events in his life.

Mr. Huskey was born in Farmville in 1946 and attended local schools in the Farmville area, graduating from Prince Edward Academy in 1966.
He married his wife Barbara Wilkerson in the same year. The Huskey's have two Daughters, Tina & Carla, born in July of 1967.

Mr. Huskey entered the US Army in 1966 and was discharged in 1970.
In 1971 he accepted employment as a Patrol Officer at Longwood College.
He remained at Longwood until his retirement in Aug. 2000.

A Retirement stick makes an excellent gift for presentation at
the member's retirement ceremony.

Mr. Huskey enjoys travel and his ventures have taken him on safari
in Africa, hiking in Nepal, white water rafting in the Grand Canyon,
and includes at least one Elephant safari.
He has future plans for trips to Everglades, Machu Picchu trail in Peru,
and a planned trip to explore the Amazon.

His motto: "Vini Vidi Vici", "I came, I saw, I conquered."

One important opinion: "Believe me, I know the value of a GOOD HIKING STICK."
