Friends,
It's so nice to know when we have a friend in need that we
can bring these needs before the body of Christ (us) and we know that the Lord
will provide as He always does (Philippians 4:19).
We are so blessed to be able to provide material assistance
to our clients as they attend classes with us, and without your help, this would
not be possible. We are currently VERY LOW on diapers (all sizes N-6), wipes and
bath and hygiene products for babies. These are obviously some of the first
material things a new mom desires to help her meet immediate needs while she
learns and grows in the Lord.
I'd love to suggest a few ways you might be able to engage
others in the assistance you may already be providing:
- Organize a spiritual baby shower… it doesn't have to be fancy and you don't need to wrap any presents. We see new moms every day who were faced with the decision of carrying their baby to term or having an abortion. A spiritual baby shower celebrates the choice of another new mom and the precious life of another baby.
- Make a place at work or your place of worship where it's easy for people to drop off baby items.
- Distribute a wish list from our needs at the Center.
- If you know of a mom who has gently used baby items … clothes, furniture, bedding, strollers, high chairs, car seats, etc. encourage them to donate to the center.
We see clients that have older children too. Sometimes these clients have fallen on hard times and need to feel the love of God in human flesh as we remind them that He can provide for their every need. We try to make some items available for these clients as well. Items such as:
- Toddler beds
- Larger size diapers (up to size 5 or 6)
- Pullups training pants
- Potty Chairs
- Age appropriate educational toys
Unfortunately, due to the challenging
economy, we are seeing more and more clients who have fallen on even harder
times through the loss of a job and the difficulty finding jobs. If you or
someone you know is willing to take a chance on giving a neighbor a hand up and
has some work they can do, please let us know.
Additionally, if you feel the nudging of the Holy Spirit
encouraging you to get involved in this ministry, we have a place for you! Don't
have time?? Share the word about the work God is doing here with others!!
Lastly, we always need your prayers! God has blessed this
ministry with so many wonderful people who help us in so many wonderful ways!
It's still so easy to be discouraged… there is so much that needs to be done
and waiting on the Lord's timing is rarely easy (for me :).
